ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Since its establishment in 1985, our school has played a significant role in shaping young minds and building responsible citizens. With a strong foundation in academics and values, the institution has continuously adapted to modern educational needs while preserving its core principles. Over the years, we have remained committed to providing holistic education that nurtures academic excellence, discipline, and strong moral values. The school is equipped with a vast playground that encourages active participation in sports, promoting a healthy balance between academic learning and physical development.
OUR HISTORY
Our institution began its educational journey in 2008 as The Madras Seva Sadan Nursery and Primary School, laying a strong foundation for young learners. In 2009, the institution expanded with the introduction of the middle school on the same campus under the name The Madras Seva Sadan Higher Secondary School (Self-Financing, English Medium). As the school continued to grow, all sections were brought together as a single institution, and students were relocated to a spacious new campus designed to support holistic learning. Marking a new chapter in its journey, the institution was proudly renamed as Sir & Lady M. Venkatasubba Rao Matriculation School, reflecting its commitment to excellence, values, and future-ready education.
Founded in 2010, the school began its academic journey with 580 students, marking a significant milestone in its growth. From the very beginning, the institution has focused on providing a nurturing learning environment that encourages academic excellence, discipline, and value-based education. With dedicated faculty, well-planned infrastructure, and a learner-friendly campus, the school has steadily evolved to meet the changing educational needs of students. Today, it stands as a vibrant centre of learning committed to the holistic development of every child.
In June 2011, the school achieved a key milestone with the approval to introduce the High School sections, reflecting its steady growth and unwavering commitment to quality education. Further progress followed in June 2015, when permission was granted to offer Higher Secondary classes, completing the school's academic spectrum. Today, the institution stands on a sprawling 11.50-acre campus, featuring modern classrooms, quality infrastructure, and well-planned facilities that foster academic excellence and holistic development.
As part of its commitment to innovation in education, the school implemented Smart Classes with smart board technology in 2017, strengthening teaching effectiveness and enhancing student engagement through technology-enabled learning.
The Learning Centre, established in 2011, marked a significant step towards fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special educational needs. To further strengthen this commitment, a well-equipped Resource Room was inaugurated in 2018, thoughtfully designed to address diverse learning requirements. Currently supporting 54 students, the centre provides personalised instruction led by trained special educator and supported by innovative digital learning platforms.
As part of the school's commitment to inclusive education, the Occupational Therapy (OT) Centre was established in 2022 to support children with special needs in developing functional independence, confidence, and essential life skills. Guided by skilled occupational therapist, students receive personalised, play-based and sensory-integration interventions that strengthen fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, attention, and daily living skills. Through hands-on strategies and assistive tools, the OT Centre enables meaningful participation in classroom activities and school life, enhancing academic engagement, social confidence, and overall well-being.
The Montessori curriculum, introduced in 2023, emphasises self-directed learning, independence, and academic understanding within a prepared environment. Multi-age classrooms and hands-on materials enable students to develop confidence, responsibility, and critical thinking skills while supporting holistic-child development.
To strengthen examination preparedness and provide focused academic support, special evening tuition sessions were introduced in 2024 for board examination students at the N. V. Rao Pavilion, extending up to 8:00 p.m. These sessions are designed for students who lack a conducive study environment at home and have significantly enhanced revision, confidence, and examination performance.
